In recent months, I have been included in various groups whose purpose is to raise collective consciousness as we approach 2012, which many view as a major turning point in life as we know. Doomsayers have painted 2012 as the end of the world as we know it while many leaders in the self-help and consciousness-raising space have called it a time of significant opportunity to change the current trajectory of events. Their viewpoint is that through our collective consciousness, we can literally determine the future by where we put our awareness and intentions right now.
To me, raising consciousness means allowing the Divinity in each of us to flow through us. Some people are uncomfortable with the concept of God or Divinity. When I talk about God or Divinity, I am referring to the one Source from which we all came. It is not a God of any one religion, but it’s a God that transcends all religions, the unifying Source from which we all came. You can call it anything you want – Source, Universe, etc., but it’s the recognition of a power and force greater than ourselves exists and recognizing that we are not separate from that Source.
I grew up in a spiritual family and the way I learned to visualize God was as an Ocean of Love and Light and our souls are all droplets from that Ocean to which we will eventually return. That has always been a strong visual for me and a reminder that we are all the same Divine sparks of God and that when we choose to align with our Divine selves, we become one with Divinity.
For me, to extend Divinity means to extend myself in Love, Understanding, Compassion and Kindness (LUCK). In all situations, we can improve our collective existence by extending our own Divinity out in service to others. Most of us respond to people based on the energy they put out more so than the words they say. So, if we can each take responsibility for what we put out, we can truly affect the universe by inspiring others to put out the same, creating a ripple effect which is profound and powerful.
Also, most of us focus on what we want. In almost all areas of our lives, to get what we want, the best thing is to give it. You get what you give. Most of us truly want to feel loved and a sense of inner peace. To receive that, it’s best to focus on giving LUCK. We don’t attract what we want; we attract what we are.
So, if raising collective consciousness is something that’s important to you, maybe one way to approach it is to focus on raising your own vibration and what you are putting out into the universe?
